This week our team met up with DC expert, Emily Anderson, to talk about some of the best things to do in the city--some more widely known than others. If you're planning a trip to our Nation's Capital in the future, we hope this post will spark some inspiration when planning your trip!

1. Pret A Manger

Essentially the Starbucks of DC, this is your one-stop shop while on the go. When you join their subscription program, you get coffee for just $0.66 a day! Along with their 100% organic coffee, you can grab ready-to-go sandwiches, soups, salads, and pastries!

2. Wine & Butter

This sweet, French coffee shop/market is nestled in the heart of Capitol Hill right across the street from Lincoln Park. It's an underground (yes, literally below the sidewalk) gem with an adorable order window to conveniently grab your drinks.

3. Tatte Bakery and Cafe

Although this coffee shop isn't exclusive to DC, it is an absolute gem. There are two locations in Dupont Circle and West End but the one in West End is much bigger and they typically offer more food options. The seating and interior are stunning and make the perfect work-day location but be sure to get there early because it's very popular!

4. The LINE Hotel

A hotel...for coffee? We know, weird. But if you're in the city, you have to head over to Adams Morgan and check it out for yourself! The coffee is amazing at this 4-star hotel and the atmosphere is even better.

5. Commonwealth Joe Coffee Roaster

For this last one, it'll require hopping on the Blue Metro line all the way across the river into Pentagon City but--trust us--it's well worth it! Each season this cafe changes its decor to match the current season--summer, fall, winter, and spring. Their drinks also change based on the season so there are always fresh flavors to try. Their cookie butter latte with oat milk is our personal favorite.
